Hi, I’m Julia — the person behind Happy Tails Collective.
After a eight-year career in tax technology—and years in corporate customer service before that—I decided to leave the corporate world behind to turn my lifelong passion for animals into my daily work.
Over the years, I’ve built extensive hands-on experience caring for animals, from looking after livestock and working animals on farms across Spain, Australia, and New Zealand, to caring for pets closer to home. Bringing together my corporate background in reliability and clear communication with a practical, hands-on understanding of animal care allows me to run a service that is both deeply compassionate and thoroughly dependable.
A huge part of how I work today comes from my rescue dog, Olive. Olive is sensitive, easily overwhelmed by the world, and can be nervous and reactive in certain situations. Living with her has taught me how to really read dog body language, recognise stress signals early, and understand that not every dog experiences the world in the same way.
Because of this, I take a calm, patient approach and tailor each walk to suit the individual dog — their personality, confidence level, and needs. Some dogs thrive in small social groups, others need a slower pace, quieter routes, or extra space. I believe good dog care isn’t about forcing dogs to fit a routine, but shaping the routine around the dog.
Whether your dog is confident and sociable or more sensitive and cautious, they’ll be treated with kindness, understanding, and respect — just as if they were my own.
